Affordable New Quads 2024: Buy Without Breaking the Bank!

new quads

Practising quad activities means moments of fulfilment for many. This motorized vehicle represents unforgettable memories for many of you. However, is it still possible to buy a new quad without breaking the bank?

This is the exercise that InfoQuad set out to do by listing small-displacement quads from major manufacturers. That said, even though we allowed ourselves to draw up this list, the price displayed represents the one mentioned on each manufacturer’s website. Although they are a good indication, you will agree that your bargaining powers will tip the balance in your favour. It’s up to you to show off your negotiation skills.

Honda Rancher TRX 420: starting at $9,797

The price includes $1,013 for transport, preparation, and applicable fees.

Honda has a great reputation for reliability. Buying a Honda quad means buying peace of mind for many years. Without being a powerhouse, this quad has a 420 cm³ liquid-cooled, longitudinally mounted 26.6 HP single-cylinder engine.

The Honda Rancher 420 may not be as well known as other ATVs, but that doesn’t mean it’s not as reliable and fun. It all depends on what you’re looking for in specifications and cost.

While most manufacturers use a CVT belt transmission, Honda favours its dual-clutch transmission (DCT). You don’t need to shift gears because it does it before you need to.

Unfortunately, Honda does not offer a two-seater quad in the line-up. In this case, if you want to carry a passenger, additional costs will be incurred to adequately equip the Honda Rancher.

CFMOTO CFORCE 400: starting at $7,749

The price includes an MSRP of $6,599, a convenience surcharge of $250, transportation fees of $500, and preparation fees of $400.

You will agree, CFMOTO has made great strides over the years. It is no longer the neglected manufacturer when it comes to buying a quad.

Segway Snarler AT6: Utility Quad for All Terrains—Test and Review

The CFORCE 400 is an entry-level quad that offers several versions to meet everyone’s specific needs. Its touring version allows the transport of a passenger with its standard additional seat.

Its aesthetics have been improved over the years, and it is certainly one of the most eye-catching on our list. Just think of the LED taillight, which is unique in its category.

The complete equipment of the CFMOTO CFORCE 400 gives it an undeniable advantage.

Kawasaki Brute Force 450 2025*: new model, price not disclosed

Even though it is brand new on the market, the Kawasaki Brute Force 450 is undoubtedly worth considering. It is preceded by the legendary reputation of the Japanese manufacturer.

Equipped with a 443 cm³ single-cylinder engine and a CVT transmission, it has an aesthetic that leaves no doubt about its origin. We have always been able to spot a Kawasaki quad at first glance. This one is no exception to the rule.

We cannot overlook its directional headlight placed on the handlebars. It illuminates exactly in the direction you want to go. It may seem like an insignificant feature, but once you’ve experienced it, you’ll appreciate its benefit.

Yamaha Kodiak 450: MSRP $9,399

Whether you are a weekend trail enthusiast or need a quad to do the heavy lifting during the week, the Yamaha Kodiak will be your ally.

The name of the brown bear used to designate this quad is very familiar to enthusiasts’ ears. It is a lineage of qualifications used over the years by Yamaha to name its quads.

Although not the most “sexy,” this quad will still get the job done when the occasion arises. The Yamaha Kodiak 450 is a mid-size 4 × 4 ATV. It’s a solid entry-level machine. Despite its size, the 421 cm³ four-stroke engine with fuel injection has a lot of power and makes the machine fun to hit the trails with.

It is a lighter ATV with an automatic transmission. This makes it the ideal vehicle for small, inexperienced riders. Its compact design makes the Kodiak 450 very manoeuvrable and fun for riders of all levels.

Suzuki KingQuad 400: MSRP starting at $9,819

A utility quad, the Suzuki KingQuad 400 is equipped for work. Nevertheless, much to the displeasure of brand purists, this quad does not make any aesthetic excesses to seduce. It has, without contradiction, utilitarian advantages to please enthusiasts.

This 376 cm³ fuel-injected version retains a five-speed manual transmission, but still with an automatic clutch. The five-speed transmission, with semi-automatic clutch (automatic model available on LT-A400FS models) and reverse gear, allows the driver to select the ideal gear to maximize traction and fuel consumption.

The equipment includes front and rear racks, a twelve-volt outlet, a trailer hitch, and complete instrumentation. Its engine is efficient but remains modest, as does the very common design.

Can-Am Outlander 500: starting at $8,599

Last year, the overhaul of the Outlanders 450 and 570 was an important job for Can-Am. For 2023, our Valcourt manufacturer offered us an entirely new Outlander from A to Z. They designed new models with intelligent innovations, useful accessories, and changed the model names in the process for the 500 and 700, while adding the new PRO range focused on work.

The new Outlanders 500 and 700 both use the same powertrain, a 650 cm³ single-cylinder engine. In the case of the Outlander 500, it develops 40 HP and 37 lb-ft of torque. This Rotax engine is tilted backwards, which optimizes air circulation and heat dissipation.

Heat on the driver’s legs has long been a problem on ATVs. Can-Am has oriented its single-cylinder engine so that the exhaust exits directly from the back of the engine and flows directly to the rear of the machine. This leaves these panels on your legs cool to the touch after a ride. This feature makes it undeniably more comfortable for its rider.

In the entry-level quad category, manufacturers must build a machine to please everyone. Whether you work all day or ride strictly for fun, this is exactly what Can-Am did with the introduction of this model.

Segway Snarler AT5: new model, price not disclosed

The range of models presented by Segway is intensifying. This year, this manufacturer adds even more choice for its increasingly curious clientele.

The arrival of the new Snarler AT5 offers a quad equipped with a 39 HP single-cylinder engine. Its engine is associated with a CVTech automatic transmission. This Segway Snarler AT5 features a robust chassis, available in short or long (two-seater) versions, and power steering. This quad has a modern design, good quality finish, and includes LED lighting.

ZFORCE Z10 - CFMOTO enters the big league!

An important point is that the new Segway Snarler AT5 also inherits the Smart Moving mobile application, thus offering multiple functions on a mobile phone. This modern technology, present on all Segway products, allows you to locate your vehicle. An “emergency” button ensures that your loved ones can quickly find you in case of a fall. Additionally, it can group other Segway users on a long ride. Finally, it also allows access to multiple parameters on the quad.

This new Segway Snarler AT5 offers much more than a conventional quad, and that is what needs to be remembered. More is not a sin.

Polaris Sportsman 450: starting at $9,739

The price includes an MSRP of $8,499, a convenience surcharge of $250, transportation fees of $515, and preparation fees of $475.

Our list would not be complete without Polaris, the Roseau manufacturer. Since its arrival on the scene in 1996, the Sportsman model has developed a reputation for value, comfort, and performance. This is reinforced by the fact that it has the best-selling 4 × 4 ATV of all time with the Sportsman 500 H.O.

The first thing that strikes us about the Sportsman 450 is the updated style. Sharper, more modern designs in the bodywork are evident from front to back, giving this smaller-displacement quad a more aggressive look. These elements are consistent with its larger bore siblings on the 850 and XP1000 models.

The Sportsman 450s are equipped with a 499 cm³ four-stroke single-cylinder ProStar engine with electronic fuel injection, boasting a claimed 33 HP. Its engine is coupled with a Polaris-style CVT transmission with P/R/N/L/H selected by a gear lever on the right side of the rider.

In conclusion, as you can see, you are spoiled for choice. This list shows that it is still possible to acquire a vehicle that will provide you with years of loyal service without breaking the bank. Happy shopping!
