For 2021, the RZR Trail has been redesigned

We’ve been waiting for it for a while… I’m talking about a new version of the 50-inch RZR Trail and the 60-inch Trail S. Indeed, with the arrival of the new Maverick Trail and Maverick Sport at Can-Am, we could expect a response from Polaris. The manufacturer has revamped the 50- and 60-inch models, but only those equipped with 900 and 1000cc engines. The base model with the 570cc engine remains unchanged, at least for now.

I have to say that although the new version is interesting, I am still surprised that the manufacturer decided to keep the same chassis. Indeed, the changes are more related to the body, the interior of the cabin and some components. The width, ground clearance and wheelbase remain the same as in previous years. However, the length is slightly longer.

At first glance, Polaris is introducing a new version of the RZR Trail and Trail S with only cosmetic changes, but when you dig deeper, you discover that the improvements go further even if the mechanics remain more or less the same.

Look

As far as the look is concerned, it’s very successful! No matter where our eyes land, the design is fluid and provides a little aggressive side that was missing in the past. The arched cage completes the exterior look of the vehicle.

I also welcome the fact that these machines now come standard with full doors. No more nets or half doors!

Comfort

Although the suspension remains more or less unchanged on the base models, several other elements add to the comfort of the driver and his passenger. First, the cabin is more ergonomic, but the position of the adjustable steering wheel has been redesigned. This offers the driver a better driving position, allowing him to keep his shoulders well supported on the seat.

The interior of the cabin is more spacious thanks to the new curved roll cage. This makes it easier for taller people to get in and out of the vehicle.

The full doors keep water, mud, snow or other elements out. This is a big advantage when riding on muddy or snowy trails for example.
