ZFORCE Z10 – CFMOTO enters the big league!

CFMOTO ZFORCE Z10

It was only a matter of time before CFMOTO joined the ranks of manufacturers offering ultra-sports side-by-sides. Launched in the United States in late August, CFMOTO Canada has now announced the arrival of the ZFORCE Z10 and Z10-4 models in Canada. This move aligns with the manufacturer’s strategy to diversify its offerings, a trend observed over the past few years. In this article, I’ll introduce the main features of the ZFORCE Z10.

Design

The second-generation ZFORCE 950, introduced in 2023, showcased a very appealing style. However, at first glance, the Z10’s design makes it clear that this model has the DNA of a purely sporty machine. Its sleek curves, rounded roll cage, and oversized suspension evoke the ultra-sport designs of major manufacturers.

Everything about this vehicle suggests it was built to deliver thrilling bursts of adrenaline to its driver. I don’t know about you, but I personally feel an irresistible urge to get behind the wheel, fire up the engine, and hit the trails.

Engine

At the heart of the Z10 is a turbocharged version of a 998cc three-cylinder engine. Although it may look like an enhanced version of the UFORCE U10 Pro engine at first glance, it’s actually a brand-new engine developed specifically for the Z10.

This engine delivers 143 hp and 100 lb-ft of torque at 7,750 rpm. To transfer this power to the wheels, CFMOTO has equipped the Z10 with its new OmniDrive transmission. The Z10 features not only a new engine but also a new transmission, pulleys, and differentials.

Of course, the Z10 includes selectable driving modes. However, unlike other models in the ZForce family, which offer two modes (Normal and Sport), the Z10 provides three options: Comfort, Trail, and Sport. These modes give the driver greater flexibility depending on speed, terrain type, and driving style.

Suspension

At the front, the Z10 is equipped with high-clearance A-arm suspension, while the rear features the Quadlink™ Gen II independent trailing-arm suspension.

The Z10 sports 2.5-inch FOX gas shocks with adjustable compression reservoirs. These shocks can even be adjusted on the go via a switch on the steering wheel.

The ZFORCE Z10 offers a suspension travel of 43 cm (17 in) at the front and 50 cm (20 in) at the rear, allowing it to handle the roughest terrains comfortably. While driving, you can choose between four levels of electronic steering assistance: Low, Mid, High, and Auto. This is particularly interesting, since, typically, manufacturers don’t offer such a combination of modes.

Depending on the driving style, terrain, or even the driver’s preference, you can select the desired mode. Or, if preferred, simply switch to Auto mode to let the system adjust automatically.

Driver’s Cockpit

Here, CFMOTO has really outdone itself. The ergonomics and attention to detail in the finish are impressive. The large 12.3-inch display with Apple CarPlay connectivity enables access to multimedia features while navigating trails or your favourite playground.

The steering wheel design with integrated control buttons is reminiscent of a racing car steering wheel. A second 7-inch screen in front of the driver displays speed and main vehicle parameters. According to the photos available, it seems that this screen is fixed on the steering column. If so, the placement of the wheel will follow the height of the steering wheel, thus maximizing its access.

The seats are also impressive, both in design and features. In addition to the comfort provided by the cushioning, there is a sort of “suspension” under the cushion. This allows the seat to absorb some of the jolts the driver would otherwise experience. It’s a feature not typically found in standard vehicles.

Standard Accessories

CFMOTO is known for equipping its vehicles well right out of the box. The standard accessories delivered with the ZFORCE Z10 follow this trend and include:

  • Full half-door (with interior finish)
  • 4500 lb winch
  • LED headlights and lights
  • Underbody skid plates
  • NFC keyless entry
  • 14-inch aluminum wheels with 30-inch tires

Other features I find very appealing in the Z10 design are its 64-inch width, 14-inch ground clearance, and 99-inch wheelbase.

In Conclusion

I must say that CFMOTO did not hold back on the features and performance of the ZFORCE Z10. They’ve entered the exclusive and highly competitive world of ultra-sport side-by-side manufacturers with a splash.

Of course, these details look impressive on paper. That’s why our team can’t wait to test out this brand-new model. It’s going to be a long wait until spring.

In the meantime, I invite you to visit the CFMOTO Canada website for more details.
