An interesting value model, the Alterra 450 offers most of the mechanical features of the larger models with a few differences: 7″ of travel, 10″ of ground clearance and no foot brake due to its smaller displacement. It does not offer electronic power steering or a tow hitch. For parking, you can rely on its lockable stick shift. Also more modest; the rear tires, still 25″ but 8-12.
