CFMOTO CFORCE 1000 Overland 2025: Adventure Takes On a Whole New Name

In 2025, the CFMOTO CFORCE 1000 Touring Overland arrives with a clear mission: to deliver a premium off-road experience at a price thatโ€™s hard to beat. Designed for adventure enthusiasts, this quad built on the brand-new GEN3 platform combines comfort, convenience, and ruggedness. With its full equipment package, it is ready to handle just about any situation, no matter the season.

Impressive Equipment on the CFMOTO CFORCE 1000 Overland

From my very first contact with the Overland edition, it was clear that CFMOTO didnโ€™t go halfway. The quality of the finish on this two-up quad is flawless, and its generous level of equipment genuinely impressed me.

A Solid Chassis

  • The front and rear bumpers are sturdy and follow the lines of the bodywork well.
  • The LED headlights are powerful, and the dual-colour centre light can come in handy.
  • The windshield works well and blends nicely with the quadโ€™s overall look.
  • The full-skid plate set covers the entire underside, including the footboards. I applaud the choice of 6ย mm UHMW, as this material stays flexible while remaining durable.

Well-Designed Utility Features

  • The 3,500ย lb winch features a synthetic rope. No more hand injuries from steel cable frays.
  • The 2-inch hitch receiver is well positioned. I even noticed something rather rare on a quad: a 7-pin connector right beside it. Very practical!
  • The composite racks come with extensions. With the many tie-down points, theyโ€™re ready for the wide range of CFMOTO accessories. Capacity is 45ย kg (99ย lb) up front and 90ย kg (198ย lb) in the rear.
  • I really liked the Overlandโ€™s rear cargo box. Itโ€™s spacious and fairly watertight.

Comfort and Ergonomics for Long Rides

The Overland Edition features several heated components: the heated thumb/handlebar system is effective and easily adjusted with a single press of the left thumb. The LED indicator offers five different colours, one for each intensity level. The heated rider seat is also a welcome feature in cold weatherโ€ฆ and much less bulky than a sheepskin cover.

I found the 7-inch TFT dashboard to be very well executed, complete, and easy to read.

All handlebar controls are well positioned and within reach. In addition to basic controls, there are even dedicated buttons for the winch, horn, and turn signals. The USB-C port is another smart addition. I even used the 12-volt outlet to inflate my paddleboard during a lake excursion.

Itโ€™s pretty much as if a full catalogue of options had been bolted onto it. Except that, with the CFORCE 1000 Overland, everything comes standard.

Performance of the CFMOTO CFORCE 1000 Overland

The CFORCE 1000 Overland is powered by a 963 cc V-twin engine, delivering up to 84 hp at 7,500 rpm and 62 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 rpm. The raw power is adequate without giving the impression my forearms were about to stretch. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by the OmniDrive CVT automatic transmission, which is a standout in smoothness and performance. The drive-mode selector (2WD, 4WD, 4WD-Lock) is perfectly positioned on the right side of the handlebar and easily activated with the thumb. A small detail that ensures smooth, responsive, and safe riding on all types of terrain.

Front and rear suspension offers a generous 225ย mm (8.8 in.) of travel. Thatโ€™s more than enough in most situations to tackle varied terrain with confidence.

After pushing the CFORCE a bit, I can conclude that the fully adjustable gas shocks perform very well. I really appreciated how easy it was to fine-tune them to my riding style. Just stop for a few seconds along the trail and turn the knobs. Many shocks offer only spring-preload adjustments. On the CFORCE 1000 Overland, you can even adjust compression and reboundโ€”much like performance shocks.

Donโ€™t hesitate to try different combinations. Taking the time to adjust these settings can deliver a more comfortable ride tailored to conditions. And it doesnโ€™t cost a thing.

Wheels, Tires, and Handling of the CFMOTO 1000 Overland

This imposing quad rides on beautiful 14-inch wheels equipped with beadlocks. These help keep the tire seated in case of a puncture and allow for much lower air pressures when needed.

The Overland comes with 27-inch, 6-ply CST Clincher radial tires. They roll smoothly and track well on most terrain. I say โ€œmostโ€ because I would clearly prefer another type of tire for mud or winter conditions. But for everything else, grip and comfort are solid.

Maintenance and mechanical accessibility of the CFORCE 1000

Hats off to the CFMOTO engineers for the simplicity of accessing key maintenance points:

The air filter is mounted high and easily reached behind the left side panel. No tools required.

The engine and transmission oil-level plugs are both located behind the same small panel on the right side of the engine.

The radiator cap is easily accessed under a cover at the centre of the front cargo rack.

Speaking of the radiator, I appreciated the protective grille positioned just in front. It can be removed without tools for easy cleaning of debris that could accumulate and reduce cooling efficiency.

Grease fittings placed at strategic points are another smart feature. They allow contaminants such as water or sand to be flushed out of pivots and prevent annoying squeaks.

Capability and Durability

Comfort and equipment are great, but capability also needs to stand out. The 26-litre fuel tank is positioned toward the rear of the vehicle to keep the centre of gravity low. I didnโ€™t push the range to the limit, but a 200ย km ride is easily achievable in most cases.

The 12-inch ground clearance is more than enough to clear many obstacles and handle demanding trails. The 800ย kg (1,764ย lb) towing capacity is in line with the competition.

I must admit that the robust build quality and overall design of the CFORCE 1000 Touring Overland inspired confidence. The limited 5-year (or 5,000 km) warranty also stands outโ€”a detail that can make a big difference for long-term peace of mind.

A Surprising Value Proposition

Priced at CA$17,299, the Overland offers features comparable to more expensive competitors but with many more accessories included. In my opinion, the quadโ€™s value makes it a smart choice for adventure riders who keep an eye on their budget.

Highlights of the CFMOTO CFORCE 1000 Overland

  • The sound of the 963ย cc V-twin engine under strong acceleration: music to my ears!
  • The OmniDrive CVT transmission: incredibly smooth!
  • The easy selection of 2WD, 4WD, and 4WD-Lock modes: much appreciated!
  • The very complete equipment packageโ€ฆ I love it!
    • heated seat
    • heated grips and thumb warmer
    • front auxiliary light
    • windshield
    • comfortable passenger seat
    • large-capacity storage box
  • The 3 power modes (Work, Normal, and Sport). The selector is simple and quick (even while riding), and each mode feels distinct.
  • Easy access to basic maintenance points: well thought out!
  • The 800ย kg (1,764ย lb) towing capacity and 12-inch ground clearance: excellent!
  • The 2-inch hitch with 7-pin trailer connector: impressive!
  • The limited 5-year warranty: confidence-inspiring!

Areas for improvement on the CFORCE 1000 Overland

  • The obvious lack of storage compartments for personal items; thankfully, the rear cargo box makes up for it.
  • At 500ย kg (1,102ย lb), itโ€™s not exactly lightweight! Handling suffered a bit when I switched to a more aggressive riding style.
  • The passenger-grab-handle bolts were loose on both test units. I had to torque them slightly above the recommended setting, and the issue didnโ€™t return for the remainder of the test.
  • Compared with the CFORCE 800 Touring we had at the same time, I noticed the Overland 1000โ€™s speedometer reading about 8% higher than the CFORCE 800. The odometer followed the same trend. So, on a 300 km ride, it displayed roughly 324 km. The cause may simply be a speed-sensor calibration oversight not compensated for the oversized tires.
  • Raw power:
Vรฉro and I conducted several tests on a closed circuit and on various surfaces. Acceleration ended up being very similar (if not identical) to the CFORCE 800 Touring. More than once, my partner pulled ahead of the line! In theory, the Overland 1000 has a higher output, but in practice, it seems only to offset the added weight.

Verdict: My Opinion of the CFMOTO CFORCE 1000 Overland

The CFMOTO CFORCE 1000 Touring Overland is clearly a strong option for off-road adventure enthusiasts. It combines performance, comfort, toughness, and an extended warranty. The Overland delivered an experience that exceeded my expectations. For riders looking for a quad that can follow them on any adventure without compromising comfort or budget, this model truly deserves consideration.

Iโ€™d like to thank CFMOTO Canada for giving me the opportunity to conduct this test.
