ToggleOn June 7, the team at André Hallé et Fils in Matane offered a golden opportunity to powersports enthusiasts. The Gaspesian dealership organized a Can-Am side-by-side test ride day right in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts. What a joy to learn that this activity was taking place so close to home! It was also the perfect chance to enjoy a father—son adventure with my youngest boy. Sharing my passion for powersports in a controlled, friendly setting made this moment even more special.

Defender Limited 2025: a robust, comfortable utility side-by-side

The Defender Limited 2025 is first and foremost a utility vehicle, and it should be taken for what it is: a machine designed for work, hauling, and utility rides in the woods. It is clearly not my first choice for having fun on the trail—especially when compared with a Maverick Sport X rc—but it offers an excellent platform to move efficiently around your property or head out on nature adventures with complete peace of mind. You sit more upright, with a more “square” driving position, which reinforces its utilitarian character. The HD10 engine delivers honest performance. It is not a wild beast, but it provides the power needed to tow, climb, and haul without flinching. It is less brutal than the Maverick, yes, but perfectly suited to its mission.
Special mention for its spacious cargo box, which can carry up to 600 pounds (272 kg). This will be a valuable asset for camp work or projects around the property. It will also be useful for transporting wood or gear during a forest expedition.
High-End Comfort and Equipment on the Can-Am Defender Limited

What truly sets the Limited version of the Defender apart is its exceptional level of equipment. The fully enclosed cab completely transforms the experience: no more dust, rain, or wind hitting your face. You can ride comfortably sheltered from the elements, summer or winter, while enjoying a full heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Add power windows, a tilt windshield with wiper and washer, an integrated dome light, and you have a utility vehicle that borders on luxury. For working or exploring in comfort, it is hard to beat.

Behind the wheel of the Maverick Sport X rc: first impressions

From the first few metres behind the wheel of the Maverick Sport X rc, you can tell it was engineered for trail performance. The high-end FOX 2.5 PODIUM shocks and aggressive chassis geometry deliver surprising ride comfort even on the roughest terrain. Whether soaking up a series of bumps or climbing over rocks, the Maverick stays stable and predictable. It almost feels like it “floats” over trail irregularities without ever compromising fun or control. A true performance beast and an absolute joy to drive.
Maverick X rc 2025: Raw Performance and Pure Excitement

Although it is not turbocharged, the Maverick Sport X rc impresses with its 100 hp that deliver raw, uncompromising power. Acceleration is explosive, and the immediate throttle response gives a lively, aggressive feel that enthusiasts will love. This vehicle reacts instantly to every press of the pedal, allowing you to exit corners or climb obstacles with confidence. And the deep, powerful sound of the 4-stroke engine adds a thrilling sensory dimension to every ride. In short, even without forced induction, the Maverick delivers the goods—with style.
A Can-Am Test Ride Day to Remember

This event, organized by André Hallé et Fils, was much more than just a test ride. It gave local enthusiasts the chance to discover the new 2025 Can-Am lineup in a warm and welcoming setting. For me, it was above all a wonderful father—son outing, filled with smiles, adrenaline, and genuine connection.
A big thank you to the entire André Hallé et Fils team for their hospitality and generosity.
