2022 Gaspesie Tour – Day 5

Our day started with a mechanical breakdown. In fact, we hadn’t even sat down in our quads yet when one of us had to load his machine into the service trailer that is following us on the road this week.

Gaspesian hospitality

After some research, they showed up at Soudure André Langlais in Grande-Rivière. Our friend was able to discover the legendary Gaspesian mutual aid! As soon as our unfortunate quad rider explained the problem, they stopped what they were doing and made room for the quad in the workshop to proceed to the repair. They said… ” So this is an emergency, we’re going to fix this for you right now…”.

For my part, this is not the first time I have witnessed this kind of situation. The people of Gaspesie will tear their shirts off to assist those in need of help. Our friend Normand would also like to thank the welder Joël Lebreux, who was very thorough and friendly, as well as the owner who took the time to show his hunting trophies. This is Gaspesian mutual aid at its best!

Ride day 5

Let’s get back to our ride… The group left the Riotel hotel in Percé at 8:15 a.m. in the direction of Grande-Rivière to refuel our quads. It is important to note that there is no more gas station in Percé. So, we had to take this into consideration in order not to run out of gas in front of the famous Rock!

So, our group set out on the southern part of the Gaspé Peninsula towards Bonaventure. To do so, we passed over part of our previous day’s route and over the Grande Rivière bridge. We are now traveling mainly on the TQ 10. It was a beautiful sunny day. Fortunately, there was not too much dust which made our trip even more pleasant.

Our day passed without any notable event except for a muddy passage in the middle of the afternoon. In short, we arrived at the Riotel in Bonaventure in the late afternoon where we spent the night.
