For the 2024 model year, Polaris is pushing the boundaries once again. It does so by introducing the industry’s very first utility side-by-side with a 1500 cm3 3-cylinder engine. This strength is sure to give the machine even more power. It’s designed to make tough jobs easier with the industry’s only STEELDRIVE transmission. As a result, it will have greater durability.
We see the arrival of the industry’s first “extreme” utility side-by-side: the all-new Polaris RANGER XD 1500. Created for maximum productivity and efficiency, the RANGER XD 1500 sets a new benchmark for utility side-by-side. It offers unprecedented capacity, brute force and comfort.
Targeted Market
From the outset, Polaris communications managers make no secret of the fact that the target market is highly targeted. Farmers, owners of very large tracts of land, big-game hunters and ranchers will be the most likely to acquire this type of vehicle. In fact, it boasts the creation of a whole new category of vehicle: an Extreme Duty Side-by-Side Utility.
A side-by-side design for the toughest jobs.
This new benchmark in the utility side-by-side category features the first ever 1500 CC ProStar 3-cylinder engine.
It delivers an industry-leading 110 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque. With the only 1500 cc utility engine from any manufacturer to date, the RANGER XD 1500 2024 offers over 30% more power and over 50% more torque than the nearest competitor.
Details of This Top-of-the-Range Vehicle

STEELDRIVE® Transmission
With the industry-exclusive STEELDRIVE automatic transmission. It features a 100% steel belt for smooth, precise operation. Its design is fully sealed and liquid-cooled for unsurpassed durability.
- Maximum strength and durability. The fully sealed, liquid-cooled design provides maximum durability and longevity with less maintenance than a rubber belt.
- Smooth, precise control. Enjoy smooth, predictable throttle engagement and precise control at low speeds. It’s an advantage when backing up to trailers, navigating rough terrain or spraying a fence line.
- Effortless shifting, silent operation. Switching between drive, park and reverse is silent and effortless. The fully sealed design reduces operating noise for enhanced comfort.
- Hill Assist and Descent Control. Hill Assist prevents vehicles from rolling backwards when the gas pedal is released, and brakes on uphill gradients, while Descent Control engages the transmission to maintain control when driving downhill.
Care and Maintenance
The RANGER XD 1500 offers the longest service intervals in the industry. This is four to six times longer than standard full-size side-by-sides, so owners can maximize their uptime.
Robust, High-Strength Steel Chassis
For added durability and strength, the RANGER XD 1500 features a one-piece high-strength steel chassis offering 160% more torsional rigidity. Designed with stamped ROPS uprights in an enclosed cab, the cab’s more homogeneous fit provides better sealing and less noise.
4 Driving Modes
The new RANGER XD 1500 is delivered with an easy-to-use selector switch that allows you to choose from four different driving modes:
Comfort Mode
Limits throttle response and engine braking, reducing operating noise for a quieter driving experience.
Standard Mode
