Last weekend, the St-Octave-de-l’Avenir ORV Festival took place. Dominic and I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in one of the rides organized on Saturday.
For many people, the return of the ORV Festival was highly anticipated. Indeed, this festival was very popular in the 1990s. With the success of the 2022 edition, the organizers are already preparing the 2023 ORV Festival!
In short, this event allowed me to rediscover a sector of the Gaspé Peninsula that I had not visited in recent years. Indeed, we left from the Grande Nature Village towards the Trout Pond on the Dunière Reserve. All along our route to the Trout Pond, we could see the famous Chic-Chocs Mountains.
The scenery is beautiful and reminds us why ATV riding is our passion. We also had a perfect day for this type of ride. Indeed, we had a mostly sunny sky and the wind was quickly blowing away the dust in front of us and also the mosquitoes when we stopped to take breaks. What more could you ask for?
After having dinner, we headed back to the trail. This time, we passed through the mountains of a part of the Chic-Chocs. We were also able to contemplate Mount Nicol Albert and its very steep slopes. Fortunately, the trail is still at a good distance!
Our guide had planned stops at strategic places to give us a maximum of good views. Our return to the Grande Nature Village was done as planned around 4:00 pm. In the evening, people could enjoy a Méchoui as well as a show and fireworks.
Unfortunately, Dominic and I left just after our return from the ride. We’ll do it again next year for sure!
I invite you to view the photo album of our ride below.
A big thank you to the organizers for this beautiful day!
